An award-winning assisted living and memory care facility, Watercrest Myrtle Beach has become an integral part of the Grand Dunes master-planned community. Environmental Concepts was instrumental in assisting ownership in re-visioning the outdoor amenities for their new property, which subsequently led to providing design services for numerous other award-winning Watercrest Senior Living projects throughout the Southeastern United States.
With a unique program approach supporting healthy-aging and the celebration-of-life, the newly envisioned outdoor amenities are an ideal complement to this purposefully-designed senior living community.
Elements of the outdoor program include: raised gardens and potting tables allowing the opportunity for facility-grown herbs and vegetables, as well as fresh flower cuttings in the dining room, a whimsical central maypole and pylons suspend decorative garden lighting; there is a multi-level koi lagoon surrounded by various shaded seating areas; illuminated, accessible walking paths; an ornamental footbridge leading to a decorative patio with fire pit and bench swings; a large shade sail-covered putting green; lush, varied vegetation for year-round enjoyment; and an outdoor therapy pool.
