About This Project

Centerpiece to the largest and most significant collection of American figurative sculpture in the country, the Purdy Center serves as the new Welcome Center for Brookgreen Gardens. It provides additional event and educational program space, and showcases a new Contemporary Conservatory welcoming guests from around the world, while also enabling Brookgreen to expand their horticulture programs.

As a part of the project team, Environmental Concepts assisted Brookgreen Gardens’ staff  and the architect in developing thoughtful soft and hardscape designs for the grounds with pedestrian connectivity to existing garden spaces, including plans for: the Conservatory Gardens, the Great Lawn, the North Terrace, the Wetlands Gardens, as well as renovations for the Fountain of the Muses courtyard, and Daylily Walk, to name a few.
