About This Project

The Chanticleer Gateway Plaza and Concourse serve as the main pedestrian gateway into the TD Sports Complex and the unifying circulation corridor through the athletic district on Coastal Carolina University’s Campus.

 

Sporting a life-size statue of the university’s mascot, Chauncey, the plaza design promotes public art, team spirit, and provides ample space for sports fans to gather for celebrations and selfies with their mascot!

 

Other site elements include: an ornate concourse, pedestrian walks and plaza spaces; a campus transit, team bus, and vehicular drop-off; speed tables at the Chanticleer Drive pedestrian crossing; custom one-of-a-kind gateway and matching banner pylons; decorative seat walls; pedestrian site lighting; lush landscaping; site furnishings, including decorative planters, and hanging baskets.
