Myrtle Beach, SC
Sponsored by the Myrtle Beach International Airport and Brookgreen Gardens, this exhibit featured the sculpture Mountain Fishing by Rosetta.
Brookgreen’s concept of landscape design is exemplified by the use of native plants and exotics adapted to this climate — this exhibit utilized Norfolk Island Pines, Angel Wing Begonia, Maidenhair Fern, Sweet Potato Vine, Bromeliad, Sago Palms, Fountain Grass, and Elephant Ears.
Brookgreen Gardens contains the finest outdoor display of figurative sculpture in the world with more than 1,400 works in its collection. Once a prosperous rice plantation, it now serves as a popular tourist destination where visitors can see sculpture and plants in a beautifully landscaped setting, native animals in the Lowcountry Zoo, and South Carolina history on sites across the 9,000-acre property.
